A Poem About Spring

Spring skies, sunny or grey.
Time to put the blankets away.

The kids are taking tests
While mom is spring cleaning the mess.

Warm weather brings us outside without a coat,
To see the plants come up and the butterflies float.

Gardens and flowers are all in bloom,
There's a soft green carpet to the outside room.

Young animals are everywhere,
Insects and pollen are in the air.

Dad is cooking outside on the grill,
Mom's getting things ready, so you be still.

Now that the weather is fine,
The kids all know it's baseball time.

Time to go outside and play,
Vacations, the beach and fishing all day.

Lord, thank you for spring and the renewal it brings. Please help us to appreciate the beautiful earth you have created. Amen.

Another Poem...

Below is a Thanksgiving poem written by the Poetry Club at Silverado Valley Ranch.

Thanksgiving

Things come to mind, my brain almost burst.
Time to cook, which comes first?

Thanksgiving turkey, many ways to try,
Smoke, roast, maybe even fry.

Homemade apple sauce, green bean casserole,
Grandmas special cream corn, hot, yeast roll.

Mashed sweet potatoes, dressing with cranberry,
Pumpkin or pecan pie, maybe even cherry.

With all these special treats comes a message from above,
The most important ingredient is love, sweet love.

Thanksgiving is such a special time of year,
All of our family and friends are near.

Good health, life and our families,
Happy times and good memories.

Family togetherness and children playing,
Together for a traditional Thanksgiving.

As life changes, from hostess to guest.
Traveling everywhere from east to west.

New family members and additions,
Bring us new thanksgiving traditions.

As the end of our time together draws near,
We've already begun our plans for next year.
